The "beaches" are those of the Belgian coast, and "Agnes" is the famous "Varda, who has spent his childhood. Now that 81 years back to tell us a bit 'what he did in life to the slow rhythm of the waves, a set of images reflected on a mirror lying on the sand and old photographs. Those that says, in words and pictures are all simple stories of family and feelings. Les Plages d'Agnès is not a real documentary, it is rather a kind of cinematic autobiography. It's worth it for the pleasure of listening to a narrator of exception and to discover or rediscover a sacred monster movie and his friends from Jacques Demi Jim Morrison, Jean Luc Godard, Alain Resnais, Gérard Depardieu, Philippe Noiret etc.
