Roger Monsieur Roubaix, Erik M. Cyclocross

Erik De Vlaeminck, two years older than the famous brother Roger, was a real ruler in the cyclo-cross, but succeeded in establishing itself in different races on the road. All this despite the bizarre nature that made him a very particular type. Gifted with great natural power, just 21 years, in '66 was already world champion cyclo-cross: 7 in total, the rainbow jersey he won six of them consecutively ('66, '68, '69, '70, ' 71, '72, '73) a real domain. Even in Belgium had no rival: it has won in '67, '69, '71 and '72. On the road in '69 he won the Tour of Belgium, also winning a stage, and the following year was the first in Paris and Luxembourg. Among the major placings, third place in the Tour of Belgium and 70 in Ghent-Wevelgem '69, when he was 2nd in the Flèche Wallonne, the following year ended 3rd.
